Family Fun

Well, we still haven't had a date night since September. But, we have had many fun family outings that make up for it all. We have traveled down to Tennessee to visit friends. We have also gone on several hiking adventures. Hiking is our favorite thing to do as a family. We get to spend time talking, seeing nature and exercising all at the same time. The kids love it.

To spend time alone with husband, we have been cooking together. We have satisfied our cravings for Guacamole. Had it every night this week. So, not sure what to make next. We like to put something together to eat while we chat in the kitchen. That is our time to catch up with each other and talk about things that we need to do or plans that we need to make. We only have about 15 minutes alone before we are, once again, bombarded with little ones that want our attention.

This weekend will be spent doing organizational projects around the house. We live in a very small house for such a big family. So, we are constantly having to sort out and give things away to goodwill so that we have enough space. Its easy to accumulate too much stuff and feel like we are outgrowing our space. And I HATE clutter! We'll focus on the garage (which is overflowing with tools) and our basement (which is overflowing with toys). And the spice cabinet needs some serious work too.

Well, I've posted! I hope to look in on other blogs today too. It has been a long time since I've checked in on you guys. Miss it. Have a good weekend!!!

Blogging Blues

Sorry I haven't posted a date night blog since date #1. We've had a change of plans. Unreliable babysitters making it hard to have a date night! So, we're just planning more fun things to do as a family. I'll post something soon. I'm visiting the library right now with Luke. Hope everyone is doing well in blogland!

True Colors Thursday: Sky Blue

Here are a few Sky Blue images.

Here is the Galleria shopping area with the beautiful clear blue skies of Dallas in the background.

Here is a beautiful arrangement of flowers that I have in my kitchen. Not sure what kind they are, but love the colors.

Happy Thursday!

Critter Camera: Bread Crumb Stealing Squirrel

Here is a cute little fellow we spotted while on our trip to Dallas. We were in Richardson, TX at one of my favorite parks. There is a duck pond and so the kids enjoy feeding the ducks. However, on this occasion, a squirrel decided he was hungry too and swiped a few bread crumbs that were meant for the ducks. Didn't realize squirrels liked bread crumbs too.

Dallas Trip - No Date

Since we went out of town to Dallas last week, we didn't do a date night. Luckily, I still have some time to finalize plans for our next outing. Our trip down south was enjoyable. The kids are finally old enough to sit through dinner at a nice restaurant without throwing food on the floor, crying or complaining. The 12 hour drive was also better than past trips because kids will sit for longer periods of time. And they can watch DVDs and play their DS games which helps them pass the time in the car.

The B-52's are one of my all time favorite bands. Kids used to despise me for playing their music and singing along at the top of my lungs. Now they like them and even request for them to be played. There favorite song is Quiche Lorraine. But my youngest one calls the dog Fusch instead of Quiche. We listened to The B-52's a lot during our road trip to Texas.

Check back next week for camera critter and date night details. Hope all is well!
